I crossed paths with that fintail Benz a few months ago. It was stopped a few cars ahead of me at the traffic light on Geary and Van Ness. The light was about 20 seconds, but that didn’t stop me from picturing myself behind the wheel...

Can’t believe I never noticed the Alfa Center. I must have passed it many times but I noticed until I saw that photo.

I pass by those places in SF all the time, I see you found the fintail Mercedes, a chick drives it and I see her all over. No idea what she does. You also found the good Italian shop, i often take that route home and i try to see whats in there. Please don’t show me any local project cars, that’s all I need....I like traction avants too. I have a 71 Z, that one has some wierd graphics and strange seats, it was repainted an incorrect color, but the paint looks well done.

That car is always at a light off van ness, on geary. The last time I saw it and posted a photo on here was from that exact spot. My wife works by Japan town so I take that route.

I never understand why so many people want to drive Lombard street. Its like the worst amusement park ride ever (worse than its a small world). First of all, there is a giant line in which you will sit at a 45 degree angle going uphill in stop and go traffic just to get to the top. Then you very slowly inch down it with a bunch of tourists trying to get ran over. I didn’t actually drive it but I observed this the last time I was in SF. I was also driving a manual so trying to inch up that hill would have been a nightmare. Driving around in SF was an experience in general but was so worth it!

And it’s a Slough-built-in-UK Traction as well (RHD), so even more rare here!

Yeah, that Mercedes seems to be a San Francisco landmark. I’ve seen a ton of pictures of it online. I found it on Powell Street; Union Square is directly in the background.

It actually looked pretty fun in that Cadillac. It probably had an automatic, and there were about six people in, three of whom were sitting on the edge where the rear seat meets the trunk. The line had to suck though.

Oh yeah I could see the enjoyment factor as a passenger I guess. But I never get to be a passenger.

Oh, I recognize that place! We pass by it every time we go diving and I always thought it was an air-cooled VW shop since there’s the Karmann Ghia, two air-cooled 911s, and a 356 visible from the street...

Nope! He does have a lot of VWs, but the good stuff is in the back. If you look on Google Street Vew, the Citroen is visible in two angles of the shop.

Yeah but with a passing glance while driving by you could easily pass them over as ‘30s Fords without their distinctive twin chevrons on the grille ;)

Definitely! The only reason I saw it is because I was eating some tacos at the Mexican place next door.
